Palm Beach is a new hotspot for New Yorkers looking to get out of the epicenter of coronavirus.
“People who were down for Spring Break have decided to stay here,” Corcoran realtor Dana Koch tells Page Six. Plus, “Over the last 30 days there are a lot of New York license plates showing up here. We have had an influx of people trying to find the right situation.”
We’re told one couple forwent traveling to their Hamptons house and instead booked a Palm Beach rental for an entire year. Another couple from Boston booked sight unseen. “People are prioritizing their physical, and mental health and quality of life more than ever,” Koch says.
Suzanne Frisbie of Premier Estate Properties, an affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate, tells us, “The vast majority of Palm Beach buyers come from the Northeast [and] the Greater New York area, thus [it’s] no surprise Covid-19 has the Palm Beach market very active,” especially for house-hunters who have school-age children or are in an “at risk” age group for the virus.
