After four years on and off the market, a contemporary waterfront mansion in Long Island will once again hit the auction block on Aug. 13.
“The seller is relocating to South Florida,” said Paramount Realty USA founder Misha Haghani.
The 6,000-square-foot, six-bedroom home at 2971 Shore Drive in Merrick, New York, goes by many names including the White House, Casa Blanca and Vila Bianco.
One of the fanciest homes in the area, it has a saltwater pool, which overlooks the waterway separating Long Island from the barrier island that forms Jones Beach State Park.
It’s located 30-ish miles from downtown Manhattan on Long Island’s South Shore.
There’s an attached two-car garage, a finished basement and 60 feet of frontage on the water with a private pier.
The property has been for sale for most of the last four years, according to the Realtor.com listing, and priced as high as $2.95 million.
Haghani has attempted to auction the property off before. That auction, in June 2019, was a bust: “The seller didn’t accept any bids, so no sale,” Haghani said.
This time around, the suggested opening bid is a reduced $1.99 million, which should help.
