Noah Syndergaard sued for missing $27K rent for NYC apartment

Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard has struck out with his new Tribeca landlord — failing to pay the rent on the $27,000-a-month penthouse he signed up for, a new lawsuit claims.

Syndergaard had signed an eight-month lease for the three-bedroom, 2,700-square-foot duplex at 116 Hudson St. in February, yet has failed to pay anything on it since, according to landlord 600 Street LLC in a Manhattan federal lawsuit filed Friday.

Syndergaard “treated the binding Lease like an option,” the lawsuit alleges.

After signing up for the rental, Syndergaard “decided not to take possession of the Leased premises, Syndergaard repudiated and abandoned his obligations under the Lease, refusing to take possession of the Leased Premises, and declining to make any of the required payments,” the court documents say.

Meanwhile, the landlord prepared the unit — which boasts “three large terraces, high-end architectural design and designer finishes,” the suit says — for his March 20 move-in date, but he never moved in or began paying, the court documents claim.

The landlord notified Syndergaard on April 17 that he had defaulted on the lease, the papers said.

Syndergaard and his lawyers responded April 30, notifying the owner that he “has no intention of taking possession of that subject premises and the landlord is hereby free to re-rent it as he sees fit,” according to the suit.

The landlord put the unit back on the market but has been unable to re-rent it, the court papers added.

The suit is seeking $250,000 for the full value of the lease.

A rep for Syndergaard did not immediately return a request for comment.
